Ruby exemplified compassion and giving. She was the mother of three children while many others considered her their surrogate mother. She cared deeply for her family, had a firm belief in God, and a passion for service to the poor and did so without obligation. She consistently cooked and delivered meals to the homes of the sick and spent countless weekends preparing meals for the homeless – for many decades.
Ruby was predeceased by her mother Annie Ruth Williams, father Clarence Williams, sister Ernestine Glover, brother Herman Jackson, and daughter Adrienne Carroll. She is survived by her son Kenyatta Matheny (Therese), daughter Monique Matheny, son-in-law Vernon Carroll, sister-in-law Connie Jackson, grandchildren Korey Carroll, Denzel Carroll (Kiana), Ava Bogdanovich, Piper Matheny, and Vivian Matheny along with many loving great-grand-children, nieces, and nephews.
