5 years ago - you got to meet your 2nd great grandson, Isaiah. We miss you so much! Gatherings will never be the same without you, but we know you would want nothing more than for us to be together. I love and miss you mama !

It’s been a month without you. Miss you very much grandma. You will live  on through us, I promise. You have blessed us so much- we won’t disappoint you. Love you! 

Sofia is truly in heaven with gods work.   God bless her.   I’m looking forward to her love from heaven on earth.   Her love ones are truly enjoying her presence.  No more pain for Sofia.    Thank you Jesus.  

I miss you grandma! I miss your voice, laugh, cooking, your company, the love you had for my babies and our family. 

I miss her voice, her checking on the kids, her laugh, her kindness, her food, I will miss everything about my grandma.  She made me feel so safe. - love you grandma 

Sofia knew my mom since she was a kid and I spent a lot of time at her house listening to them tell stories about it. She let me play at her house , taught me Spanish, and taught me how to cook some meals. I will always remember those times and will miss her dearly!

I just want to express that my grandmother lived what it truly means to serve.  She served her family with great pride and love.  She never asked or expected anything from it.  With her love language being food she couldn’t have expressed any more clearly how she felt about people. I would not be who I am today if it wasn’t for her! Even in her hardest times she never complained or felt sorry for herself but, instead continued to think about the happiness and well being of others. She was a fighter with the most gentle and loving spirit.  The impact she left on her family will live on for generations to come.  I love you and you will forever be in my heart and spirit. Until we meet again Lela I hope I made you and will continue to make you proud as you look down on me from heaven! Thank you!

I remember the first time grandma became a great grandmother. She was excited and so happy to meet Joshua. The love she had for him was unexplainable. 

You are a great lady, mom, grandma and great grandma. You were my biggest fan when I was a Chicago Policeman for my entire career. I will miss you but I know you are with the Father. Until we meet again, Rest In Peace Mama! Love you ! Juan😢

I will cherish all of the memories of playing dominos with Sofia. She taught me a lot about the game, to get her to pass was always difficult and her and my grandmother were always the team to beat. She was always sweet, kind, and loving. I will miss her a lot 

Will NEVER forget the countless memories of our travels, every holiday, special life moments or the “just because” we want to hang out with each other times.  There were plenty of times where Sofia and my mom would slay us at dominoes.  Or when she would take all the quarters at bingo.  ALWAYS had special moments with her even til the end.  She will be missed by my mom, my whole family and friends that had the honor to know her.  I love you Sofia!

The laughter and your sweet smile.❤️ It didn’t matter how serious the situation was there was always a positive and at times a way to make others laugh❤️  Im so glad I had the opportunity to see you one last time. I won’t say farewell because I know we will see each other again ❤️

My memories  of her extend out to the times we played soft ball with our families on leavitt and crystal st.  She hit the ball the way she did like my mom that I will never forget.    May she continue providing good memories that last a lifetime.   Enjoy your journey Sofia you will never be forgotten.   Ivette.
