Funeral service for Mrs. Amelia Wynell Brooks, 77, will be Friday, January 23, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Curtis and Son Childersburg Chapel with the Rev. Paul Hickman officiating. Burial will follow in Greenhill Cemetery. Mrs. Brooks passed away January 16, 2015 at Sylacauga Health and Rehab. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was a lunchroom worker at Childersburg High School and worked at Head Start Day Care in Childersburg. She is preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Brooks; brother, Gerald Johns; sister, Charlyse Lyle. She is survived by son, Mike (Dona) Grier of Alex City; daughter, Lisa Bryant of Childersburg; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; sisters, Faye Crow of Childersburg and Dixie Glenda Hubbard of Fayetteville. Visitation will be Friday, January 23, 2015 from 12-2 p.m. at Childersburg Chapel. Pallbearers will be Joey Vanzant, Jeff Burton, David Burton, Tommy Burton, Larry Johns, Mike Grier. Honorary pallbearer will be Ken Cobb. Curtis and Son Funeral Home Childersburg Chapel will direct the services..
