Mrs. Janet Payton Williams

Mrs. Janet Payton Williams, age 77 of Alpine, died April 15, 2011 at her residence. She was a native of Talladega County, and was retired from Rust Engineering where she was executive secretary. She was preceded in death by her husband, John T. Williams; her father, Theodore Payton and her step-mother Odessa Payton; her mother, Pat Thompson; and her step-father, Clyde Thompson. She is survived by her sons, John Tom Williams, Jr. of Talladega; Jimmy Ray Williams of Arkansas; Derrow Jay Williams of Virginia; and Jeffery (Ted) Williams of Clanton; her daughter, Susie Jeanette Martin of Alpine; her brother, Milford Payton of Sylacauga; her sisters, Ozaline Carter of Winterboro; Tara Poynter of Mountain Home, AR; and Francis Britt of Douglasville, GA; 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and her sister-in-law Vaunell Buford. Visitation for Mrs. Williams will be held on Monday, April 18, 2011 at Curtis and Son Funeral Home Childersburg Chapel from 5 until 8 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, April 19th at 2:00 p.m. in the Childersburg Chapel with the Reverend Tommy Thorton officiating. Burial will follow at Midway Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be J.R.
