Rev. John Cleveland "JC" Looney, age 74, of Harpersville, died Sunday, April 11, 2010 at Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham. Mr. Looney died from a life-long illness. He was a life-long resident of Harpersville, AL. He worked for Blazer Steel in Vincent. He was a member of Harpersville First Baptist Church, and was a Baptist minister. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert C. Looney and his mother, Evie Lee Synder Looney; two sisters, Jewel Dean, and Hazen Dismukes; a brother, Ronney Lee Looney, and a niece, Camie Joe Allred. He is survived by two brothers, William "Bill" Looney (Linda) of Odenville, AL and Gary Looney (Debra) of Tallassee, AL; a sister, Mary Ann Allred (Herbert) of Harpersville, AL; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 12, 2010 at Curtis and Son Funeral Home in Childersburg from 5:30 until 9:00 PM. Funeral service will be on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at the First Baptist Church of Harpersville at 3:30 PM. Mr. Looney will lie in state from 2:30 until 3:30 in the church.
