Ruby Talton Allen

Mrs. Allen passed away Sunday, June 12, 2016 at her residence.

She is survived by her daughters, Melissa Robinson, Laura (Rickie) Price and Misti (Jonathan) Tyler; grandchildren, Brandy (Michael) Brasher, Brooke Price, Kayla Tyler and Conner Tyler; and one great grandchild, Colin Brasher.

She is preceded in death by husband Ralph E. Allen, parents, Gladys Smith, Russell Smith and father, Albert Talton.

Ruby was born in Jefferson County where she attended school in Leeds and then pursued a degree from Nunnelley School of Nursing in Childersburg, AL. She was a dedicated nurse who was loved and respected by her coworkers and patients and she continued to care for others up until the last year of her life while battling breast cancer. She was employed as a nurse in Birmingham and the surrounding areas including Sylacauga Hospital for 49 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Childersburg. She enjoyed bowling, traveling, watching SEC sports and most of all spending time with her family.

Pallbearers will be Joe Allen, Michael Brasher, Eddie Elliott, Danny Hand, Jake Billingsley, and David Brown.
