Anne Sophie Schaefer

Born: November 14, 1922

Died: Feb 9, 2026 at the age of 103 in Chilliwack General Hospital

Anne is survived by her son Wayne (Cathy), daughter-in-law Barbara. Grandchildren: Paul, Gillian (Luke), Ryan (Sarah), Jonathan (Kristy). Great grand-children: Kyra, Lauren, Helen, Elise, Gavin, Connor, Annabelle, Finley.

She is pre-deceased by her husband Carl; her eldest son Dennis, her infant son Glen and her eleven siblings (Frank, Elizabeth, Mary, John, George, Pete, Jake, Carl, Valentine, Elsie and Clara).

Anne was born in Bateman, Saskatchewan. She Married Carl in the Lutheran church at Oakshella at age 22. She and Carl moved to Broadview, Saskatchewan where two of their sons were born. In 1951 they moved to BC and bought a house in Chilliwack.

Over the years Anne enjoyed her flower and vegetable gardening and shared the fruits of those labours with family and friends. This included home-made bread, buns and blackberry jelly which we all enjoyed. She was always up for a game of canasta or cribbage and she brought her competitive spirit so you had better be ready.

Anne was very involved with her church. She was a longtime member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and put in many hours with the church’s quilting group building over a thousand quilts, the majority of which were donated to various charities.

Anne(mom/grandma/great grandma/aunt/neighbour/friend), will be missed for all she gave us.

A Funeral service will be held on March 28th at 11:00am at St Paul's Lutheran Church, 8871 School Ave,
