He was born July 21st 1930 in Maine-Et-Loire, France.
Claude is survived by his Wife Therese, his two Daughters, Marie and Kathleen (Gordon) Bird, eight Grandchildren, and nine Great Grandchildren, plus one on the way.
Claude started being a baker at the early age of 14. He decided at the age of 23 to come to Canada, eventually ending up in Vancouver B.C. where he met Therese and married in 1956. He worked at many bakeries in Vancouver finally working at McGavins. In 1971 Claude, Therese and the girls moved to Abbotsford to work in the bakery there. In 1992 Claude and Therese moved to Chilliwack and a few months later Claude retired from the bakery. Dad enjoyed travelling, fishing, and puttering around the garden in his retirement years.
A viewing for friends and family will be held on January 23rd, 2020 at 1:00pm until 2:00pm at Henderson’s Funeral Home.
