Doug is survived by his loving wife, Brenda, of 55 years. Daughters, Deena Barclay, and Chrissie (Todd) Kendall. Grandson’s, Liam and Owen Barclay, Ben, Blake and Bradley Kendall. And many extended family members.
Predeceased by parents Earl and Ida, sisters Bev & Brenda, and brothers-in-laws Dave and Gil.
Doug followed his father’s footsteps in the trucking industry. He started hauling cattle with his dad and later he drove independently for approximately 3 years. He started driving tanker truck for Dairyland and retired after 39 years. He did not feel he was ready to retire so then he drove a Peterbilt semi-truck (which he called his Cadillac truck) for Sterkenburg Transport for 10 years.
The Parker family would like to give a heartfelt thank-you to the CGH ER, ICU and 4th floor staff for their care and compassion.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 27, 2025, at Henderson’s Funeral Home in Chilliwack at 1:00 PM with refreshments to follow.
