Elfra Coral Chapman

Elfra Coral Chapman is lovingly remembered by her daughter Coral Caddick (James), her son Calvin Chapman (Faye), grandchildren Mona Dawn, George, Kelly Anne, Ian, Kyle, Marina, Tyler (Jenny), and great-grandchildren Logan, Lucy, Courtney, Andrew, Blake, Riley, Jayden, Liam, Lindsay, Chase, TJ, and Marek.

Elfra is predeceased by her husband Frank Edward Chapman.

Elfra Coral Chapman (nee Cox) was born September 5th 1920 in Melfort Saskatchewan to Coral and William Cox. She was one of 8 children and the 3rd youngest. She received her schooling at Stoney Creek Saskatchewan. She was actually one of those kids who really rode a horse to school and they had to stay home when the temperature was below -40. In 1942 She married Frank Edward Chapman and they were married for 74 years. Right after their marriage they spent their honeymoon on the train heading for Victoria B.C. when Frank was called into active military service. Elfra stayed in Victoria til Frank shipped out. She headed to Chilliwack to stay at Frank’s parents’ farm for a while then headed back to Melfort and lived with her parents. Then she and Jean Burns headed to northern Saskatchewan to preach the gospel. When the war ended in 1945 Elfra and Frank moved to Chilliwack where they built a home and started to raise their family. They had a son Calvin and a daughter Coral. Elfra was an active member of the Chilliwack Pentecostal Tabernacle (now known as the First Avenue Christian Assembly) until her health deteriorated. She was a resident of Bradley Center til she passed away very peacefully on Saturday, January 30th 2021, into the loving arms of her saviour Jesus Christ.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Bradley Centre - Fraser Wing in Chilliwack, BC, for their wonderful care and kindness.

The family will be holding a private viewing and Celebration of Life service at Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home, followed by a private graveside service at Chilliwack Cemeteries on Wednesday, February 3, 2021.
