Elli was born on March 11, 1931 in Gull Lake Saskatchewan. In her young age the family returned to Germany during the depression. They barely escaped with their lives during World War II, returning to Canada. Elli lived most of her life in New Westminster, BC. When she needed a little more assistance later in her life, she moved into Langley Lodge. After residing in Langley for several years, she moved to Victoria in the spring of 2019 to be closer to family.
She is predeceased by her parents, Rudolph and Elsa Buchholz, as well as her best friend and caring brother Alfred Buchholz.
After 15 eye surgeries in her young life, she was declared legally blind in 1980 but always found beauty in everything and everyone. Elli never married or had any children. She loved travelling in her younger years with her mother, loved birds, singing and the sound of gentle music. She was always very thankful and happy to see everyone. Elli was a kind and gentle woman who touched the hearts of everyone who knew her.
She will now rest in peace with her brother, Mother and Father. Elli will be dearly missed by family and friends that knew her through the years.
“Give all your worries to Him, because He cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7
I pray that your soul finds peace. I’ll miss you. May you have eternal rest.
