Erhold Korth

It is with deep sadness that our family announces the passing of Erhold Korth, who went to be with the Lord on September 26, 2025, at Chilliwack General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was 95 years old.

Born on August 24, 1930, in Gnadental, Ukraine, Erhold immigrated to Canada in 1950 and eventually after a while in Vancouver made Chilliwack his lifelong home. In 1956, he married Erna (née Gerhard) Korth, and together they raised four daughters. Erhold worked as a welder and machinist, but his greatest joys were his hobby farms and fishing the rivers of British Columbia.

Erhold was predeceased by his parents, siblings, and his beloved wife, Erna (2012). He is survived by his four daughters: Edeltraut “Trudy” Korth, Ursula (Peter) Wiebe, Ingrid Schulz, and Heidi (Siegbert) Jeske; his grandchildren: Tiffany Schulz, Jordan Schulz, Jennifer (Nathan) Schachtschneider, and Melissa Wiebe; as well as extended family and friends who will cherish his memory.

The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of condolences and support during this time. In accordance with Erhold’s wishes, a small graveside service will be held on November 7th with a memorial service to follow, where all who knew and loved him will be welcome to attend.
