

On Wednesday August 28, 2024, the talented, beautiful and loving Evelyn LaRiviere passed away peacefully at the Fraser Hope Lodge in Hope BC at the age of 84 following an extended battle with Alzheimer disease. She was predeceased by her parents Peter and Loretta Stevenson, sister Marlene Chartrand and brothers Roy Stevenson and Richard Stevenson.
Evelyn is survived by her loving daughter Heather Bosiak (Goodman), her son-in-law Donald Bosiak, her daughter Jacqueline Goodman and her grandson Nicholas Goodman and Second husband Ed LaRiviere. She will be deeply missed by her sisters Millie Kiesman, Gayle Stevenson, Dolly Dyck and her nieces and nephews.
Evelyn was born in Sudbury, Ontario on September 20th, 1939.
She grew up in Manitoba and moved to BC in her early twenties. She was an adventurous gal and she travelled to California where she enjoyed a short modelling career. After modelling she boarded a ship bound for England, where Heather was born. In l965 Evelyn and Heather returned to BC and settled in Vancouver, and the following year her second daughter Jacquie was born.
Evelyn worked for the airlines, loving her positions with CP Air, British Airways, and Canadian Airlines. She retired in 1992 and moved to Hope, BC.
In her younger years Evelyn was involved in local musical theatre in Vancouver. She sang with the Richmond Singers, before joining Allegro, a women's choir, driving back and forth from Hope to Vancouver for rehearsals and concerts.
She loved music, gardening, and she was a gourmet cook! She also loved good wine, travelling all over the world, and golf. Evelyn was a beautiful strong, classy lady with an incredible sense of humour, which she maintained until she left us!
Evelyn’s family extends sincere thanks to the angels/staff at Fraser Hope Lodge. They cared for and supported Evelyn in the kindest and most respectful way.
