

Frank Edward Chapman was born Jan. 22, 1920 at Melfort Sask. to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Chapman, the youngest of five boys. He received his schooling at Clapton School. Then at the age of 17 he moved with his parents to Chilliwack, BC where he lived at home and rented a dairy farm along with his brother Victor. Then in the spring of 1941 he was called into military service with the reserve army, and in Dec. he joined active service in the R.C.A.S.C. with the 4th Armoured Div. which saw service in England, Belgium, France, Holland and Germany. Before going overseas he was married to Elfra Cox in Melfort, Sask. After being discharged in 1946 he again took up dairy farming, then later he worked as Plant Supt. at Valley Granite Products, and in 1967 joined Canada Post as a letter carrier and retired in 1985. Frank had been active in many ways with the Chilliwack Pentecostal Tabernacle (now known as 1st Ave. Christian Assembly), was also a chartered member of the Pentecostal Sr. Citizens Society as Treasurer for 17 years. Frank is survived by his wife of 74 years, Elfra, and by his son Calvin (Faye) in Calgary, Alta and daughter, Coral (Jim) in Chilliwack, BC, 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
