August 27, 1936 – February 12, 2022
Heinrich Rohl (age 85), our devoted and loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, and dear friend to many passed away suddenly at his home in Chilliwack, B.C. on February 12, 2022.
Heinrich was born and raised in Denmark and was the Son to mother Asta Kathrine Dalgaard, born on October 8, 1909, passed away December 22, 2010, Asta’s first husband who she married May 25,1933 and father of Alis and Heinrich was Kaj Frederik Valdemar Rohl born, October 8,1909 passed away November 12,1938. Asta’s second husband whom she married on June 6, 1942, and father of Liane passed away December 26, 1978.
As a young boy Heinrich dreamed of sailing and was accepted into the prestigious School Ship Danmark training program at the age of 14 and later sailed around the world as a merchant marine sailor for the world's largest container shipping company, Maesk.
Heinrich and his family immigrated to Canada in 1957 to begin a new life. While living in Vancouver he joined a Danish folk dancing group where he met and fell in love with Elsebeth Axelsen whom he married April 11, 1963. Soon after, they moved to Surrey to start their family. They welcomed their first-born son Tony Lenard Rohl on December 9, 1965, then soon after their second son Danny Lenard Rohl was born on July 2, 1967, four years later their daughter Anette Leane Rohl was born August 22, 1971.
As a successful foreman for a major construction firm and later as a business owner of his own construction company, Heinrich was able to provide a beautiful family home to raise his family in and take them on many memorable family vacations.
On May 5th, 1990, he experienced the tragic loss of his eldest son Tony in a boating accident in the ocean. Other hardships came, yet he had an amazing gift to stay positive through them all. During these times he was always able to see a ray of light deep within the storms and with incredible strength he reliably carried his family through each of them.
He was kind, generous, and someone you could always rely on. He was a man of honor, pride, strength, and courage and truly a man of his word. He enjoyed his daily walks, homemade wine, carpet bowling, socializing with his friends and was the happiest when he was surrounded by his loving family.
He was so deeply loved and treasured by his wife Elsebeth, Son Danny (Amanda), Daughter Anette (Steve), Grandchildren Tony, Emma, Liam, Myles, Sister Liane and his Nieces and Nephews.
He will be forever missed and never forgotten. Until we meet again…
