It is with great sorrow that we announce that the Lord, in His infinite wisdom, has taken from our midst our dearly beloved daughter, sister, and aunt, Helena Jozina Stym, widow of the late Mr. William Stym.
Helena was born on April 23, 1976 in Hoek, The Netherlands and passed away on July 8, 2025 in Chilliwack, British Columbia, at the age of 49.
Helena's family immigrated to the Chilliwack area when she was an infant and she spent her entire life living in the Fraser Valley. She graduated from Mount Cheam Christian School in 1994 and had various jobs in the local community including in the church’s Home Care service, where she helped care for families and people with special needs.
On November 30, 2006 she married William Stym and a few years later she began studying to be a pharmacy technician. She enjoyed her work at the Southgate Shoppers Drug Mart and later at Lock's Pharmacy. She loved meeting people and made friends everywhere she went. Her friendly, helpful personality and her wealth of knowledge will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She leaves behind to mourn, her loving parents, Anthonie and Janna Klaassen, her siblings, Carolyn and Harvey Van Driesten, Frank and Chantal Klaassen and Christa and Mark Van Klei. Her nephews and nieces who she loved unconditionally, Ken (Karla) Van Driesten, Richard (Julia) Van Driesten, Kyle (Alysha) Klaassen, Miranda (Arjan) Arends, Darren (Denise) Van Driesten, Vanessa Klaassen (Josh Griffith), Rebecca (Grant) Vossebelt, Caitlyn (Greg) Vandenberg, Stephanie Van Klei, Danielle Van Klei and Brayden Van Klei. Her great nephews and great nieces, Lilah, Cassidy, Samuel, Moriah, Lucas, Scarlett, August, Peter, Isabella, Philip, Cyrus, Hudson, Gavin and Marcus.
She is also lovingly remembered by Will's daughter, Christine (John) Rauser and their children, Clara and Linus as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins in both Canada and The Netherlands.
