Jim was born on January 23, 1940 in Calgary, Alberta. He attended school in Calgary ending at Mount Royal College. Shortly after he joined the Calgary City Police Force.
He married Enid in 1964 and pursued his business career at AGT and Xerox. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to McDonald’s in Penticton and later to John Deere in Chilliwack.
He was a devoted husband and father to his son JD (Pam) and his daughter Jennifer (David). He was the best “Gramps” to his three grandchildren, John, Ella and Jamie.
Jim was an avid golfer from the age of four. He was a member of several golf courses during his life. He “acquired” many golf buddies along the way, most of whom became life long friends. Everyone who knew Jim witnessed his kind and gentle soul, his generosity and of course his ability to tell a great story or a joke.
Jim was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s in 2005 and was in long term care since 2016. Enid and family would like to extend appreciation and gratitude to Dr. DuToit, the staff at Valleyhaven and to our extended family and friends who offered gracious support throughout his latter years.
Special thanks to all of his golf buddies who kept him “In the Game” for many years.
