James John Jonk

Dad was born on August 16, 1934 in Purmerend, Holland to Klaas en Anne Jonk. He was one of 13 children. He immigrated to Canada in July 1954 to follow his brothers John and Henry and sister Jo and her family.

He worked a lot of different jobs throughout Alberta and British Columbia and met Mom in the Queensborough area. They were married for over 59 years until mom passed away on January 31, 2016.

Dad’s adventurous spirit took the family to live in many different places including California,, Albera, Northern British Columbia, Queensborough and even back to Holland. In 1974 they settled in Chilliwack.

Dad was a hard worker and enjoyed being among people.

He leaves behind his children Nick (Marian), Liz, Jim (Helen), and Annette. His precious grandchildren Alicia, Jordan, Nicola, Justin (Heidi), Nicolas (Kassi), Michelle (Torin), Kevin (Stephanie), Larissa (Ken), Kaitlyn, Lindsay, Devan, Lauren and Connor as well as his great-grandchildren Maya, Scott and Carter.

He will be missed by all his family in Canada and Holland.
