

Born February 7, 1933 in Watson Saskatchewan to James and Echo Metcalfe. Ken was the 4th child of 5. The family moved to B.C. when Ken was 6 making Chilliwack home. When he was young he enjoyed playing basketball and softball, but most of all he loved riding horses. During his life Ken worked at logging in a variety of jobs, a log barge loader operator for Rivtow, and finally he started his own business as a crane truck operator. J.K. Truck and Crane, which is still in the family today. Along the way he met Jean Gordon and they were married in 1964. In 1966 their only child, Grant, was born.
Ken enjoyed camping in the B.C. back country, trips down south to Arizona, fishing, taking care of his vegetable garden. But most of all he loved being around family and friends.
Ken is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Jean, son Grant (Laura), grandchildren Madison and Mitchell. ‘Uncle Ken’ also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Ken was predeceased by his parents James and Echo, sisters Alice, Margaret and Isabelle, and brother Jim.
A joint family Celebration Of Life with Kens nephew Ron Johnson to be held at a later date.
