It is with deep sadness and heartbreak that we announce the passing of Leanne Legge, on December 17, 2020. She was a loving mother, sister, aunt and friend. Leanne passed away peacefully with her two precious children at her side. Leanne was predeceased by her parents, Harold and Joyce, and her older brother, Brett. She is survived by her two children, Karlee and Ryan, her sisters, Cheryl and Donna, her brothers, Mark and Warne, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Leanne was born January 22, 1964 in Garden Bay, BC to Harold and Joyce Clay. She was a spunky, curly haired girl that often snuck out to neighbours' homes for extra meals, in her early years, while growing up in Pender Harbor with her 5 older siblings. Her love of food later became a passion to cook and bake that would spill into her kitchen to be shared with everyone. In October of 2004, Leanne moved from Richmond to Chilliwack, where she raised her children, Karlee and Ryan, and lived life generously up until her passing. Leanne loved being with her children and trying any new recipes to enrich them. She had an amazing knack of tweeking recipes to make them even better. When her children were young, she could even disguise fish as pink chicken to help them eat healthier.
Dogs have always been welcome in her home and she had several, throughout her lifetime. She certainly didn't appreciate cats leaving donations in her garden. Eventually, a cat did move in with her. Leanne always had a hilarious cat story to share, even when she didn't find the situation particularly funny.
We miss her love, laughter, wild sense of humour and insermountable generosity. We're grateful that she always would share her recipes. Leanne will be in our kitchens for generations to come, through the food she loved, and recipes she passed on to us.
