Leo Emile Trudeau passed away in his sleep on Friday, February 11, 2022 at 95 years of age in Chilliwack BC. His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in life, facing challenges with a smile and charm that few who knew him will likely ever forget. Born on June 10th 1926, in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. Leo served proudly with the Canadian Armed Forces in WW2. Stationed at one point during his service at Suffield Experimental Station where he and his fellow soldiers participated in secret tests of Allied counter-measures against chemical warfare agents and other weapons of mass destruction. After his service, Leo spent the following years logging areas of BC, including Harrison Hot Springs, Quesnel and Prince George area, while raising five rambunctious boys. Leo was pre-deceased by the love of his life Frances, to whom he was married for nearly 60 years; as well as two sons, Dennis and Matthew. Survived by 3 of his sons Richard, Rodger and Leo Jr (Tote). 8 of us were lucky to have known him as Grandpa, and 13 more knew him as Great Grandpa.
A graveside service for Leo, where he will be laid next to beloved wife Frances, will be held at Chilliwack Cemeteries at 10010 Hillcrest Drive, Chilliwack BC; on Thursday March 3, at 1 pm. A small reception will follow where we will celebrate the lives of Leo and his son Matthew Trudeau at IOOF/Masonic hall at 46008 Reece Ave Chilliwack between 2 - 4pm.
