Lloyd Ernest Charles Gieselman was born to Hurbert and Cecelia (Rositch) Gieselman on June 29, 1951 in Chilliwack, BC. He was the seventh of eight children.
Lloyd graduated highschool in Chilliwack in 1970. After highschool he spent time in Terrace with his brother Barry before joining another brother, Bob, in Revelstoke. Uncle Bob and Auntie Mickey moved to Cache Creek where Dad joined them as assistant manager at Bob’s business, Bonaparte Shell Service. Lloyd worked at the Dairy Queen, a bakery, and construction - where he helped develop the Cache Creek golf course and eventually worked on the construction of the Coquihalla Highway. When back in Chilliwack, Lloyd worked in stucco for years before arriving at Aquadel Golf Course where he oversaw maintenance. Eventually, Lindell Beach Holiday Resort was formed and Dad joined up as Aquadel was turned into a housing development. Dad continued to work right up until his death.
Lloyd met Joyce Swallow in 1973 on a blind date set up by Joyce’s brother in-law. Lloyd and Joyce married in 1977. In Cache Creek, Dad & Mom were actively involved with the local Kinsmen Club. Additionally, Dad was even an auxiliary RCMP member with the Ashcroft branch. Lloyd & Joyce eventually separated and relocated to Chilliwack in 1987, finalizing the divorce in 1994.
Dad loved golf, both playing and watching. In his younger years he also enjoyed basketball, softball, and pool.
Lloyd is survived by his three sons, Shawn (Andrea), Brett (ex Barb), Paul (Kaitlyn) and his grandchildren Savannah, Claire, Josh, Clarke, and Joseph. He is also survived by his younger brother Richard, his ex-wife Joyce, numerous sisters-in-law, and a couple of amazing women who blended their families with us for a time. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings Barry, Don, Gerry, Brian, Carole, and Robert.
