

On August 17th, 2025 at 71 years old, Michael's laughter was silenced after a short battle in hospital. Born August 26, 1953 in Halifax, he was the youngest of 8 children. He started working at Sears while still in high school and then joined the Canadian Military. After a short stint in the military, he joined the RCMP and served for 26 years. After postings in Sechelt, Squamish, Fort St. John, Toronto Airport, Woodstock, London, Ontario and moving many times, he and his wife, Sandra and their children moved to retire in Chilliwack in 2002. Not one to sit idle, Mike took a job at Walmart for the next 17 years and made many lifelong friends. During his time at Walmart he took a short break and worked at Chilliwack New and Used.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sandra; son James, daughter Sara (Dan); sister Madeline (Bill); sisters-in-law Kim (Alfie), Wendy; brother-in-law, Randy (Lynne). He is predeceased by Father Howard, Mother Frances (Nan); brothers Bill, Doug, Lawrence; sisters Bonnie, Betty, Geraldine; brothers-in-law Jack, Colin, Dave, Bob; sisters-in-law Pauline and Bev.
The family would like to thank Dr. Cameron Ross for years of wonderful care. The doctors and nurses at Chilliwack General, Surrey Memorial and Surrey ICU. No service by request. The ashes were spread by family and he is resting in his favorite spot.
