It is with a very heavy heart that our family announces the sudden passing of Bob Blom. A resident of Hope for the past 25 years, he was known to many around town and was always ready for a chat. He could be seen most mornings walking his beloved dog, Maisie. His friendly nature and helpfulness to all will always be remembered by those that knew him. Bob had a great sense of adventure and was always up for any kind of road trip, whether it was planned or not. He loved camping, hunting, fishing, and gold mining. Over the years he worked very hard and had a very strong work ethic. After retiring in 2000 from Peerless, he went on to operate his own business until 2022. Bob was well known for his love of dogs and left behind his very special little friend and companion Maisie.
Born in Grande Prairie, his family moved to Valemount when he was aged 5. He shared many wonderful memories of him and his family growing up there.
Bob is survived by his partner Dianne, her children, daughter Val (Chris) and grandchildren Madi, Macy, Taylor and Haiden, son Adrian (Kaili) and grandchildren Peiton, Alivia and Kaleb. Dianne’s mother Winifred, sister Raye, and brother Eric. Also survived by brothers Jacob, Cornelius (Dian), Thomas (Laverne), Ken (Catherine), Keith (Evelyn) sisters Mae & Martha (Marnie). Pre-deceased by his parents Hilda and Cornelius, brothers Dirk (Marlene) Esser (Sheila) sister Ethyl & brother-in-laws Gary, Lynn, Kenneth, & sister-in-law Pearl. He also leaves behind 19 nieces and nephews with a special relationship with nephew Matt (Genevieve). He also leaves behind many good friends.
Bob had a love of life and a very positive attitude. He will be cherished always and deeply missed. No service at Bob’s request. If anyone wishes, donations can be made to the Fraser Canyon Hospital Auxiliary or SPCA. Thank you to family and friends for all your love and support!
