Robert "Bill" William Gordon Hare passed away on July 13, 2025 in Chilliwack, BC.

He was born November 27, 1929 on a farm in Rosetown, Saskatchewan.

Bill is survived by his son David (Flaire) Hare and their children Amy (Naz), AJ (Katie), and Katie (Patrick); his daughter Linda (Albert) Bedard and their children Chad (Lindsey), Tanya (Chris), and Jason (Kellie); his daughter Sandra (Nic) Briggs and their children Dylan (Andrea) and Rebecca; and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife Ruth, who he was married to for 57 years, and his 6 brothers and 2 sisters.

Bill served in the military for 32 years, retiring as a Master Warrant Officer (M.W.O.). He was posted to Germany twice, and served in Egypt and Cyprus with the United Nations Peacekeeping Corps. After, he worked for another 12 years as a civil servant. In his retirement, Bill loved camping and travelling. He enjoyed family gatherings, often saying that he had the best family. Towards the end, Bill said that he'd lived "good" life.

The family gives special thanks to Dr. Bakker and all the caregivers at the Lynnwood and at Chilliwack General Hospital (ER and 5 North) for their compassionate care of Bill.
