Sheila was predeceased by her father, Steven Van den brink, on December 30, 2005.
Sheila was born in Chilliwack and lived there her entire life. At the age of 14, she met John at Timothy Christian School, and their friendship grew into a lifelong love. They were married in 1987 and shared 38 happy years together. She was known for her generous heart. Sheila found her greatest joy in spending time with her husband, her children, and especially her grandchildren. Sheila loved nature and could often be found hiking Bridal Falls or biking along the Rosedale Dyke. From childhood, she had a deep love for animals and spent many years faithfully caring for them as a dog breeder.
Her life was marked by a quiet faith and a sincere love for the Lord. Two years ago, Sheila was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, beginning a painful journey marked by great suffering. Throughout this time, she often reflected on the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross and the depth of His suffering for us—a faith that sustained her and witnessed to her hope in Christ.
Though she will be greatly missed, we rejoice in the promise that Sheila is now at peace, resting in the presence of her Savior, whom she loved and trusted.
A memorial service for Sheila will be held on January 16 at Central Community Church, details can be found below.
