Wade Baker passed away peacefully on May 7, 2025, in Mission, BC at the age of 90. Born in Lytton, BC on March 26, 1935, Wade lived a full and rugged life, grounded in hard work, family, and the great outdoors.
Wade was a true outdoorsman who spent much of his career in the logging industry as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator. Known for his strong work ethic and love of nature, he was happiest when surrounded by trees—especially with a chainsaw in hand. Later in life, he found a new passion in motorcycle riding, proving that adventure has no age limit.
He is survived by his loving daughters, Tania Baker and Rachel (Chris) Dixon, and his cherished granddaughters, Isabelle and Sophie Dixon and his son In-law Laurie. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Peggy, his son Shane, and his daughter Cara.
Wade’s deep love for his family and zest for life will be remembered fondly by all who knew him. He was a beloved Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Uncle Wade had a way of making everyone feel special, whether through his storytelling, his thoughtful advice, or his unmistakable laugh that could light up any room.
A funeral service will be held on May 31 at 1:00 PM at Woodlawn Mt Cheam Funeral Home, 45865 Hocking Ave, Chilliwack, BC, with a reception to follow.
