Betty Louise Farmer

Mrs. Betty Louise Propst Farmer, 76, of China Grove was called home on Monday December 29, 2014 at her residence. Born on November 6, 1938 in Rowan County, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Hallie Menius Propst.

She was a graduate of China Grove High School and a lifelong member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church. Mrs. Farmer retired from Rowan Regional Medical Center as a receptionist. Her loves included her family and friends, grocery shopping, caring for others -- both the human and four-legged variety -- and chicken & dumplings. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Truett Farmer Sr. and her brother James Propst. Those left to cherish her memory are her children, John Truett Farmer Jr. (Amanda) of Rockwell, Rachel Farmer of China Grove, and Melinda Farmer Hare (Craig) and Terri Farmer Harpole (Troy) both of Conway, Arkansas.

She was also survived by her grandchildren, Mason, Laylah, Pierce, Ashley, and Josh and 2 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Saturday, January 3, 2015 from 2:00 til 3:00 at Linn Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove with memorial service to follow at the funeral home at 3:30. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Rowan Hospice and Palliative Care, 720 Grove St. Salisbury, NC 28144
