

Born in Iredell County on September 23, 1983, he was the son of late Leonard David Overcash and Cindy Tilley Upright, who survives.
In addition to his father, Brian was also preceded in death by his grandmother, June Tilley.
Brian worked at Denali Water Solutions in Huntersville, NC and was a member of Prince of Peace Freewill Baptist Church in Kannapolis, NC.
He was an accomplished musician, playing trumpet with the Lake Norman Orchestra, where he also was the venue coordinator. He also played with New Beginnings Moravian Brass Choir- Huntersville, NC. He enjoyed playing his guitar, woodworking, taking cruises and mountain biking.
In January 2002, Brian began dating Pennie Renae Benton and on April 14, 2007, they married, sharing their lives together until his passing.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Pennie Renae Benton Overcash; his mother and stepfather, Cindy Upright (Johnny); brothers, Tony Broome (Melissa), Luke Upright (Danielle) and Sean Upright (Denique); and his sisters, Hope Phillips (Michael) and Amanda Fortner (Mike).
The family will receive friends Thursday, December 4, 2025, from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM at Prince of Peace Freewill Baptist Church 4225 Vincent Street Kannapolis, NC.
The funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM with Rev. Chuck Overcash officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park.
