Dorothy Zell Freeze

Mrs. Dorothy “Dot” Zell Reynolds Freeze, age 89 of China Grove, passed away on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at the Laurels of Salisbury after a period of declining health. Born August 26, 1932 in Cabarrus County, Dot was the daughter of the late Frank Reynolds and Lizzie Black Reynolds. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Cecil in 2004 and her brothers, Hubert and Robert Reynolds and her sister, Kay Basinger. She was a member of New Haven Baptist Church in Salisbury.

Dot spent her career working for Cannon Mills at Plant 4 in the spinning room. In her spare time, she loved working in her yard, planting and taking care of her flowers. She was also an avid reader, especially TRUE murder mysteries. She loved watching them on television also.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Sharon Harwood (Ronald) and her son, Gary Freeze (Connie) along with her grandchildren, Rhonda Fesperman (Darren), Darrell Harwood (Karen), Gary Freeze, Jr., Terry Freeze (Andrea) and Jarrett Freeze (Britt). She also leaves behind 13 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation for Dot will be on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 from 1:00 – 2:00pm at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove. Graveside Service will follow immediately at West Lawn Memorial Park.
