Born in Rowan County on March 12, 1943, George was the son of the late George Henry Beaver and Kathryn Goodman Beaver. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Beaver.
George embraced life fully and was a hardworking, dedicated family man, friend, and community member. A highly social man, George treasured his time spent with others. He looked forward to breakfast with his friends, after-church lunches, and regular games of Bingo. He was an active member of the Moose Lodge, and a faithful member of Liberty Baptist Church in China Grove, NC.
George's greatest joy was his family. He especially enjoyed the visits, vacations, day trips, lazy Sundays and companionship with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
George had a passion for the outdoors and history. He loved hunting, fishing on the lake, surf fishing at the beach, and taking leisurely Sunday drives to Morrow Mountain or anywhere scenic. His interest in history led him to frequent visits to historic sites. Known for his great sense of humor and always having something funny to say, George brought laughter and light to anyone around him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
For 35 years, he actively worked as an Automotive Machinist at Stroup Supply in Kannapolis, NC. He greatly enjoyed his time with his coworkers, who he considered not only close friends but family.
George is survived by his brother, Carl Beaver, and his sister, Peggy Barnes. He was a loving father to his sons, Brian Beaver (Debra) and Jeffery Beaver, and his daughters, Melinda Beaver (Jeremy), Melissia Jordan (Robert), and Angela Pethel (John). He was also the proud grandfather of six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-4
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance…
