Hazel D Thomas

Mrs. Hazel Deese Thomas 87, formerly of Kannapolis, passed away on Wednesday March, 20, 2013 at the Lutheran Homes at Trinity Oaks. Born on May 11, 1925 in Stanly County, she was the daughter of the late James Crawford and Martha Wilhoit Deese. Educated in the Stanly County Schools, she was a longtime member of Bethpage United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening and sewing. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Troy Lawrence in 1973 and J.D. Thomas in 1992, sister Erma D. Thomas and nephew Paul Scott Thomas. Those left to cherish her memory are nieces Joyce Thomas Compton, and Sandra Thomas Wilkinson (Neal), nephews, James D. Thomas, Terry Thomas (Linda), Michael Thomas (Bobbie) and Randy Thomas (Brenda), and a number of great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Friday from 1:30 til 3:00 at Linn Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove with funeral at 3:00 also at the funeral home with Rev. Duane Melton, minister. Burial will be at West Lawn Memorial Park.
