Helen Louise Cook Mullis, 88 of China Grove entered in to her eternal rest and into the arms of Jesus on December 17, 2016 at Autumn Care of Salisbury. She had been in declining health for over six years.
Born in Cabarrus County on October 25, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Viola Cook. Educated in the Rowan County Schools, she worked for the Cannon Mills Company for many years.
Being a member of Grace Lutheran Church for over 60 years, she loved and enjoyed her Sunday School Class, the Amazing Grace Senior Citizen’s group, and the Barbara Deal Circle meeting. She also enjoyed crafts, baking, cake decorating and gardening. One of her special joys was seeing the little birds in her yard enjoying the birdbath, feeders, and the birdhouses she provided for them.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Glenn Cook.
Those left to cherish her memory are cousins, Linda Gulledge and Stephen and Rachel Gaines, long time close friends, Karen Reynolds and Patsy Brown and numerous other cousins, relatives and friends.
Visitation will be on Wednesday from 10:00 till 11:00 at Grace Lutheran Church in Salisbury with funeral to follow at 11:00 also at the church with Rev. Jerome Cloninger, minister. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff of Autumn Care of Salisbury where Helen called home, and we took comfort that she was cared for and loved in our absence. Her residence there was a blessing for her and for all of us. In addition, we would like to thank all of the family members, church members, and friends who have provided love, clothing, gifts and support over the last six years.
