Hubert Lee Benson

Born on November 2, 1925 in Rowan County, he was the son of the late Carl Lee and Audrey Honeycutt Benson. Mr. Benson attended Rowan County Schools and served his country in the US Navy serving during WWII. He was a longtime member of Landis Baptist Church . Mr. Benson worked for the VA Medical Center as a medical assistant. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Katherine C. Benson, to whom he was married for 50 years, and his sister Mildred Clement. Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Sandra Stamper (Rick) of Landis and Patricia Reece (Terry) of China Grove. Also surviving him are his grandchildren, Beth Harrrington (Rodney), Deric Harrington, Dr. Dustin Reece (Cammie) and Staci Reece-Floreani, great grandchildren Brooke and Colby Harrington, Kilee and Carter Reece and Sebastian and Oliver Floreani. He was also survived by a special friend Evon Shimpock.

Visitation will be on Wednesday from 1:00 til 2:00 at Landis Baptist Church with funeral at 2:00 also at the church with Rev. Richie Honeycutt, minister. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Tucker Hospice House. 5005 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC. 28081.
