Born in Lancaster, SC on September 29, 1933, she was the daughter of the late William Benjamin Sawyer and Lena Maude Richardson Sawyer.
In addition to her parents, her siblings, Edith Sawyer Cash, Nettie Sawyer Clark, Wayne Brooks Sawyer and William Eugene Sawyer, and her beloved husband of 65 years, Paul E. Sanders also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Sanders was self-employed and had been an office manager and bookkeeper in the past. She loved to cook and make sure everyone had plenty to eat. She enjoyed playing the piano and more recently was attending South China Grove Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son and daughter-in-law, Glenn E. and Mary W. Sanders; two step-granddaughters, Kristian Hart (Brian) of Durham, NC and Kathryn Woods (Matt) of Lenoir, NC; and one step-great-granddaughter, Annie Karsyn Woods of Lenoir, NC.
The family will receive friends Thursday, December 7, 2023 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home, China Grove. NC.
Mrs. Sanders will be laid to rest at Charlotte Memorial Gardens, Charlotte, NC.
A memorial service will be held Friday, December 8, 2023 at 2:00 PM PM at South China Grove Baptist Church.
