John Luther Safrit

John Luther Safrit age 74 of China Grove passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at Atrium Health Main. He was born on August 2, 1949 in Rowan County and was the son of the late Luther Lynn Safrit and Catherine Bost Safrit. He graduated from South Rowan High School in 1967. From an early age, he had a self driven desire to get ahead in life and that is what led him to work so hard his entire life to provide for his family. After working for others he founded and was owner operator of Tri-J Wood Products. He volunteered his time at the Fellowship softball field at Five Forks helping the youth. He grew up at Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church, and continued that membership until his final days. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Don Safrit and sister Joyce Deal. Survivors include his son Josh Safrit and wife, son John Luther Safrit Jr. and wife, sister Pat Bullard, grandchildren Joel Safrit and wife, Colt Safrit, Patrick Safrit and wife and Nick Safrit and wife.

Visitation will be on Saturday, February 3, 2024 from 4:00 pm till 6:00 pm at Linn Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove with funeral service scheduled for Sunday, February 4, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church in China Grove with Pastor Tim Kneuss, officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
