

Mr. Jonah Kelley King 16 of Salisbury passed away on Tuesday June, 12, 2012 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center as a result of a longboarding accident. Born on June 28, 1995 in Cabarrus County, he was the son of Ken and Jackie Miller King. A rising senior at West Rowan High School, he loved sports and music, was active with ROTC and Young Life, a Christian youth association led by students. Jonah was a selfless person dedicated not only to his family, but to his friends. Strangers will also benefit from his generousity, as he has chosen to be an organ donor, where 8 immediate matches have been made and a potential of 70 lives to be affected by his donations. Jonah had already signed paperwork to join the United States Marine Corps.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brothers, Malachi and Noah, maternal grandparents, Mike and Bernice Davis, Dewey and Vicki Miller, paternal grandparents, Gene and Barbara King, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins as well as enormous extended family.
Visitation will be on Friday from 1:00 til 3:00 at High Rock Community Chruch West Campus, located on Jake Alexander Blvd. with funeral at 3:00 also at the church . Youth Pastor Jeremy Spry,officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park.
