

The daughter of Edward George Doby, and Myrtle Jordan Doby McTighe of China Grove, born Oct. 2, 1926. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, Boyd R. McKnight, daughter, Deborah McKnight Elder, son-in-law J.C. (Jake) Elder.
Judith was a graduate of China Grove High School, and attended Grace Christian Church, On China Grove Road. Her favorite Bible verse, Matthew 22:37 “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.”
Judith worked at Grove Drug Store, FCX, and Sunshine Laundry, all in China Grove, and Curtis Packing Company in Greensboro. In the 70’s and 80’s, she sold antique Furniture, and Glass ware. She was a past member of the Rowan Doll Society, and past member of China Grove-Landis Pilot Club.
Judith lived in China Grove her entire life always saying “China Grove is my home town, and I am so proud God made me a Southern Country girl.” She loved antiques and her hobby was going to auctions, and yard sales.
She is survived by cousin, Tony Cline, special adopted grandson Sheldon Propst, special adopted son Raymond Propst, and caregivers Linda and Michelle.
A service was held at Linn-Honeycutt Memorial Chapel, conducted by Rev. Isaac Rivenbark. Burial entombment was at West Lawn Memorial Park mausoleum. Memorial donations may be made to Rowan Doll Society of North Carolina. 9425 Ham Bright Rd. Huntersville, NC 28078.
