Kristopher "Kris" Steven Maldonado

Kristopher “Kris” Steven Maldonado, age 29 of China Grove passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2020 unexpectedly at his home. Born December 19, 1990 in Orange County, CA, Kris was the son of Jesus and Veronica Torres Maldonado. He attended Romeo High School where he was an excellent Lacrosse player and excelled in other athletic areas. His talent for Lacrosse enabled him and his father to travel many places for Kris to play.

Kris had many gifts and true talents. He was a gifted and extremely talented tattoo artist who could visualize anything and put it to ink in the most incredible way – creating an amazing work of art. He had a tremendous gift for music, especially playing the guitar and could listen to any song and then play it, making the guitar sing with his craft. Kris loved making his family proud of him in all he did, whether it was his art, his work or being a son, father and husband. He loved them dearly. He was a passionate and driven person who accomplished so much in such a short time here.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife and best friend of 13 years, Marissa along with his sons, Johnny David Maldonado, Shawn Nicholas Maldonado and Zion Anthony Maldonado. He also leaves behind his wonderful parents, Jesus and Veronica Maldonado and his brothers, Kevin Jay Maldonado and Brandon Maldonado along with his grandparents, Teresa and Jesus Maldonado, Sr. and Rosalba Rodriguez (whom he called Abuelita) and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Visitation for Kris will be on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 from 5:00 – 7:00pm at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove. Funeral Service will follow at 7:00pm in the Chapel.
