

Born January 10, 1930 in Mecklenburg County , she was the daughter of the late William Stancil and Taylor Stancil.
In addition to her parents, six brothers; four sisters; her husband, Banks P. McKnight, Jr and two grandchildren, Wesley and Willie McKnight, also preceded her in death.
Lucille enjoyed being outdoors, gardening and her flower gardens. She enjoyed canning vegetables. Another hobby she loved was crocheting.
Her greatest loves in life was her family her Lord and Savior and her church family at Westside Baptist Church. Lucille was an active member, making sure she was there every time the doors were open.
Those left to cherish here memory are her children, Barry, Gary, Tim and Freddie (Amy) McKnight; four grandchildren, Kevin McKnight, Haley Lay, Taylor McKnight and Caleb Mabe; and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Thursday, July 13, 2023 from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Westside Baptist Church.
The funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM with Pastor Joel Hiatt officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park.
