Marcus Jerome Barber

Born on August 19, 1976 in Rowan County, he was the son of Willie Henry Barber and Laverne Ijames Barber.

A graduate of West Rowan High School, he was a longtime member of Chestnut Grove Baptist Church. Upon graduation from high school, he pursued a career in Funeral Service. This is something that Marcus was interested in doing since he was 8 years old. He loved to be around funeral homes and meeting people was one of his favorite things. He was owner/operator of Genesis Crowe Funeral Service in Salisbury.

In addition to his parents, he was also survived by his maternal grandmother Dovie Gregory Ijames. Marcus was survived by his wife of 11 years, Rachel Parker Barber as well as numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2022 from 10 am till 11:00 am with a Homegoing Service to follow at 11:00 am also at the funeral home with Reverend Dale Gibson Officiating and Reverend Robert Ramseur Eulogist.
