Mary Louise Bernhardt Trexler (91) went home to see her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, her Husband Craige, her Mom and Dad (Mary and H. M. Bernhardt), her brother (Wayne) and her sister (Peggy) on November 23, 2017. She will be sorely missed by all those she has left behind. Mary Louise, as she was known to her friends, worked 46 years at Cannon Mills in Kannapolis in the billing department as it was then called. She graduated from China Grove High School twice. During her senior year the 12th grade was added to NC public school curriculum so she attended for another year. She was a loyal member of First United Methodist Church China Grove and attended there all her life as long as she was able. She taught Sunday School for many years and was active in her Sunday School class until the middle of the 2010 decade. She was a wonderful Mother to her sons and to many other children that were not hers biologically. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother during the 1960’s. And she always looked after and doted on her two sons, Stephen (wife Hazel, children Nicole and Chris, grandson Grayson) and Bradley (Sons Eric and Alan) who survive her. She is also survived by her brother Donald Bernhardt (Wife Moxie) and a myriad number of nieces and nephews. The Funeral will be held at FUMC China Grove N.C. on December 2, 2017 at 1:00PM (visitation at the church prior to service 11:30AM – 12:45 PM) with interment to follow at West Lawn Memorial Park China Grove. In Lieu of Flowers donations may be made to FUMC Benevolence Fund. The family would like to offer sincere thanks to her caregivers, Virginia Coffey, Brenda Hedden, Karen Richardson, Laura Trent, and Abigail Mayton for their many years of tender loving care and companionship to Mary.
