

Born on January 10, 1932 in Gaston County, she was the daughter of the late Frank Jenkins and Pearl Turner Jenkins.
She was a longtime member of Mt. Hope Church, where she was involved with the ladies circle. She had a life membership of the UCC Ladies Auxiliary. She was known for the baking at the church where everyone loved to eat her cakes and pies. She also enjoyed canning and gardening. Her profession was in clothing inspection.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Allen Franklin Horton; her daughter Tammy Horton Alexander and sister, Sara Yancey.
Those with cherished memories are her daughter Shane Horton Courson, her grandchildren, Sean Alexander (Paula) and Bethany Alexander and her son in law, Bobby Alexander.
Also surviving her are her great-grandchildren, Mila Rose Alexander; step-Great Grandchildren Jaelyn Collett, Luke Collett, Rylyn Skeen; niece, Sheila Smith; nephew, Douglas Yancey and special friend Delores Stanley and her daughter Emily Cruse.
Visitation will be on Sunday from 2:00 pm till 3:00 pm at Mt. Hope Church in Salisbury with funeral services to follow at 3:00 pm also at the church with Rev. Doctor Johnny Boggs, officiating.
