Mr. Robert “Bob” Dean Ashby, age 76 of Rockwell, passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Accordius Healthcare in Concord after a period of declining health. Born September 22, 1945 in Rowan County, Bob was the son of the late Monnie Edward Ashby and Willie Maude Waddell Ashby.
Bob spent his career doing what he loved – working as a gunsmith. He also loved raising exotic birds and raising animals. He loved his family and his friends.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Janet Russell and Tina Hodnett (Tony) and several brothers. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Amber Evans, Anna Burcham (Jacob), Sandy Russell, Kristi Russell, Benjamin Hodnett (Maria), Adam Hodnett (Shana) and Keri Powell (Nathan), 11 great-grandchildren and his special friends, Jamie Russell and Ken Lackey.
Services for Bob will be private for the family. Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Mr. Ashby.
