Roger Dale Griffin

Mr. Roger Dale Griffin 58 of Salisbury, passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro. Born on July 11, 1959 in Mecklenburg County, he was the son of the late Calvin Eugene and Violet Locklear Griffin. Educated in the Mecklenburg County schools, he was an active attendee of China Grove Church of God. He was the owner and operator of R and M Painting. Roger was an avid NASCAR fan, particularly Jimmy Johnson and also enjoyed carp fishing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his daughter Charlene Webster, brother Steven Locklear and sister Angie Brown. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 25 years, Margaret Childress Griffin, his daughters, Melissa Tabor (Mike) of Mooresville and Chenelle Brown (Jaron) of Concord.

He was also survived by his brother Randy Griffin (Amber), Calvin Griffin and Donnie Griffin, as well as sisters Sherry Holley and Rose Wright. His grandchildren are Stephanie Webster, Riley Webster, Kaitlyn Brown, Nathan Brown, Samuel Brown, Ava Brown, Christopher Tabor and Mikey Tabor and great grandchildren Noah, Neva and Luca Tucker.

Visitation will be on Saturday, November 25, 2017 from 12:00 pm till 1:30 pm at China Grove Church of God, with funeral to follow at 1:30 also at the church with Rev. Steve Sprinkle, minister. Burial will follow at Rowan Memorial Park in Salisbury.
