Born in Mecklenburg County on January 18, 1960, she was the daughter of the late Eula Mae Philemon Leventis and George Leventis, who survives.
In addition to her mother, Shirley was also preceded in death by one brother, Robert “Bobby” Davis.
Shirley worked several years as in the retail industry, having retired as a Store Manager from Rite-Aid and Eckerd Drug.
She was an avid Disney fan, collecting many Mickey Mouse items, and loved crafting. Above all, she loved her family and will be greatly missed.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 25 years, Frederick Van Brown; daughters, Samantha Pressley and Michelle Matthews; one son, Justin Brown; one brother, James Davis (wife, Michelle); grandchildren, Luciana Pharr, Amillia Wicks, Tyler Cook, Jordan Cook, Promise Johnson and Kyng Johnson and one nephew, Charlie Davis.
A Celebration of Life event will be held at a later date.
