Steven Gray Dabbs

Mr. Steven Gray Dabbs, 71 of China Grove passed away on Friday, January 5, 2018 at Tucker Hospice House. Born on December 11, 1946 in Cabarrus County, he was the son of the late Paul and Frances Gray Dabbs. Educated in the Cabarrus County Schools, he was a longtime active member of Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church, where he was a Sunday School teacher and was on the church council. He worked for many years for Network Computing Corporation. Earlier in life, Steve played pro baseball, coached little league and was a member of the church softball team.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his father in law Bill Goodnight. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 51 years, Carolyn Goodnight Dabbs, son Gray Dabbs, sister Nancy Mesic (Cecil), grandson Kendall Dabbs, mother in law Martha Goodnight and step father Ralph Furr, niece Leslie Windell (Eric), nephew Jonathan Mesic, great nephew Harrison Windell and beloved companion Joy, his pet dog.

Visitation will be on Sunday from 1:30 till 3:00 at Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church in China Grove with funeral to follow at 3:00 also at the church with Rev. Joseph Talent , minister. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
