Familia Ponce.
The first thing that comes to mind when remembering mi primo Tony is, "Larger than Life". That is how he seemed to me from the first memories I have of Him when he visited my hometown of Cananea. Even as the years went by, he was still larger than life for me. I can still remember his unique laugh that you can hear from across the house on Castana Ave. One visit that Tony and Frances made to Cananea I believe he was driving a ford pinto sedan, back then they stayed at Nana Alicia's house, and we visited them almost every day, he would ask me to join him to drive around town so I could show him Cananea, which it took only 15 minutes to see the entire town. Through the years of many weddings, trips to visit Tia Gloria with my Mom Julieta, we always had a great conversations and again, larger than life and that unique laugh.... He came to visit my house in Tucson when they came for the services of Tia Chela, it was great to see him then and we kept in touch because he requested information about our Familia using ancestry, I translated some documents of our Great Nana Angelita and our Great Tata Ramon. We kept in touch when he was dealing with his illness, he was always so positive just the way remembered Him. I will miss Him very much, but I feel blessed that I was able to be his Primo and spent time with Him, he is in a better place and I am sure that when God open the gates for him, he’s also going to see Him as “Large than Life”.
