Aurora Flores Marquez, 98 years of age, passed away on October 26, 2013 in Covina, CA. She was born on April 19, 1915 in Los Angeles, CA and resided in Los Angeles for 85 years. Aurora was a Chino resident for the past 13 years. She devoted 30 years as a Licensed Vocational Nurse at California Hospital. Among her many accomplishments Aurora graduated from East Los Angeles Junior College on February 5, 1953. Aurora served as Chaplin for the Vocational Nurses Alumni Association in 1955. She was President/Treasurer for Senior Clubs and a member of Guadalupanos in East Los Angeles. She was a member of Region 10 and served on the board of the Los Angeles Federation of Seniors. Aurora actively volunteered at various schools in her area. Left to cherish her memory are her children Ernest Marquez, Armida Avalos and Erlinda Hernandez. Aurora is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren and 21 great great grandchildren.
