Beatriz Soares Freitas

Beatriz Soares Freitas, 92, of Chino, passed away July 5, 2016 at Inland Christian Home in Ontario. She was born on December 28, 1923 in Terceira, Azores, Portugal. Beatriz had two brothers; Francisco Borges and Jorge Soares as well as three sisters; Conceicoa Borges, Berta Silva and Maria Manuela Pamplona. She arrived in the United States on March 19, 1948 and was a Chino resident for 58 years. Beatriz traveled to her home in Portugal several times over the years during the summer to visit her sister, nieces and nephews. Beatriz loved her family and dedicated her life to raising her children Bea and Tony. Her loving husband passed away in 1994 and Beatriz remarried her old high school boyfriend in 2004; Amelicar Freitas. Devout in her faith, Beatriz served on the Altar Society at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Chino. Beatriz loved her home and enjoyed good friends who came to visit her often. She is lovingly survived by her children Bea Pappas and Tony Freitas; grandchildren Nicholas, Chase, Samantha and Robert and great-grandchild Brenden.

Visitation hours will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at Funeraria del Angel Pierce Bros Griffith in Chino with rosary beginning at 7 p.m. A mass will be celebrated 10 a.m., Thursday, July 14, 2016 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Chino.
